College Goal Sunday
If you're a senior looking to go to college, this is an event you won't want to miss! Central Student Wins County Spelling Bee
Chris Pardun, an eighth grader at Central Junior High, won the Washington County Spelling Bee at Woodland Junior High in Fayetteville. He correctly spelled "erasable" during the 33rd round. Pardun won $200 and will compete in the Arkansas Spelling Bee March 3 at Little Rock. District Spelling Bee champion Sojas Wagle, a fifth grader at Walker, finished third. Eco-Wrap Scarves of Helen Tyson Middle School, under the sponsorship of GT Facilitator Jenny Jones, is one of 26 finalists in Arkansas’s 7th annual Youth Entrepreneur Showcase (Y.E.S.), a statewide business plan competition for fifth to eighth graders.
Walker Student Wins District Spelling Bee
Sojas Wagle of Walker Elementary and Abigayle Luttrell of Hellstern Middle School had been in a two-person standoff for 10 rounds of the Springdale School District Spelling Bee when Luttrell slipped. Wagle then was asked to spell a tough word to win -- miscellaneous. Click to read full article.
